Synopsis from Goodreads:”Nemesis (n.) 1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person’s undoing
3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual.

Trapped in a shared office together 40 (OK, 50 or 60) hours a week, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship. There’s the Staring Game. The Mirror Game. The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything—especially when a huge new promotion goes up for the taking.

If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong.

Maybe Lucy Hutton doesn’t hate Joshua Templeman. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.”

This is one of (if not THE) best books I’ve read this year!! ❤️ It was absolutely fun and hilarious and throughout the whole book I felt myself being more cheerful and happy .. Synopsis from Goodreads: “Megan McKnight is a soccer star with Olympic dreams, but she’s not a girly girl. So when her Southern belle mother secretly enters her in the 2016 Dallas debutante season, she’s furious—and has no idea what she’s in for. When Megan’s attitude gets her on probation with the mother hen of the debs, she’s got a month to prove she can ballroom dance, display impeccable manners, and curtsey like a proper Texas lady or she’ll get the boot and disgrace her family. The perk of being a debutante, of course, is going to parties, and it’s at one of these lavish affairs where Megan gets swept off her feet by the debonair and down-to-earth Hank Waterhouse. If only she didn’t have to contend with a backstabbing blonde and her handsome but surly billionaire boyfriend, Megan thinks, being a deb might not be so bad after all. But that’s before she humiliates herself in front of a room full of ten-year-olds, becomes embroiled in a media-frenzy scandal, and gets punched in the face by another girl.

The season has officially begun…but the drama is just getting started.”

This is a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice and I didn’t know that till I was halfway through the book!! The whole time I was like THIS CHARACTER REMINDS ME OF MR.DARCY! And this whole situation reminds me of P&P .. I guess that’s the whole point of a retelling 😂

It was absolutely fun and delightful to read 💖 I really needed a fun, pick me up book that I could read in one sitting and this book definitely delivered that it’s not just fun it also deliverers a couple of important messages about family, love and society. It talks about some serious social problems and I honestly wasn’t expecting that from this book because fun books like that tend to avoid talking about serious problems but not this book
👗
The characters are a bit older than the usual YA books. Their age range starts from 21 and up, that’s the only thing that I found odd. I wouldn’t say it’s a NA book or a YA book .. It’s RIGHT there in between both 🤔 at least that’s what I think 😅

Book description: “In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown.”

We have books that are meant to be read and then we have books that are meant to be devoured and this is one of them 📖 Three Dark Crowns is a unique YA book that you won’t be able to put down. This book is dark, emotional and definitely not what you’re expecting.

The story is being told from different POVs, mainly the three sisters. It’s a bit hard to grasp “who’s who” and “what’s happening” at the beginning but once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to enjoy the book ❤️ The three sisters were raised together till the age of 6 and they got separated and raised by different families in different cities so it’s really interesting to see how that plays in their personalities and their living conditions 🌏 Since it’s the first book in the series the world building was intelligent and I really enjoyed it ✨

I didn’t have any sort of trouble with this book in fact I really enjoyed reading it and the ending was AMAZING!

And it was packed with action that put you at the edge of your seat. Trust me, you really need to pick up your copy once it gets released. I LOVED this book, I loved the characters, I loved the plot twist .. I loved everything about it and I seriously had a hard time putting this book down.

Synopsis: “What if a microchip could identify your perfect match? What if it could be used against you and the ones you love? Eight years ago, Mercer Corporation’s M-Bands became mandatory. An evolution of the smartphone, the bracelets promised an easier life with their pheromone technology. But instead—they have come to control it. Two years ago, Maggie Stevens watched helplessly as her own father was taken from her, shattering her world as she knew it. Now, Maggie is ready to fight back. And Quentin Mercer—the very heir to the M-Corp empire—has become key to Maggie’s plan. But as the pieces of her dangerous design fall into place, could Quentin’s involvement destroy everything she’s fought for? In a world full of broken promises, the ones Maggie must keep could be the most heartbreaking.”

This book was interesting right from the beginning and it never stopped being interesting throughout the whole book. The main heroine Maggie is probably one of my favorite characters because she’s a badass that you will instantly adore.
