Room Makeover!

Helloooooooooooooooooo.. can you hear me? It’s been SO long and I am really sorry about that but as you know life can get in the way and it takes you a year to finally create a blog post 😅 anyway I don’t want to bore you so let’s get into it already!

My room in our beach house is small, cluttered and tiring to look at so a few weeks ago I decided to redecorate without actually painting the walls, throwing furniture or anything major. I wanted to use a couple of things that I already had, DIY things and make it a place that is relaxing and really cozy.

Let’s start off with the before picture, otherwise, you would not really appreciate the after picture.

FullSizeRender 10.jpg

Woaaaaah, I know but here are some facts:

  • This room was not supposed to be winter themed but my dear mother bought me the wrong duvet, so I was like WAAAAIT a minute why not make it winter themed so that I would have winter ALL YEAR LONG plus I will be able to get loads of decorations, unlike the theme I had in mind.
  • Yup, that was not a good idea. Winter all year long does not even sound that appealing.
  • Then again, I was 14/15 around that time so most of the ideas that I had around that time were not good.
  • It gets worse when I show you close-ups and you have been warned.

IMG_0537This weird thing is actually where I usually hang books I’m reading/wanting to read .. not the most attractive way but it did what it was supposed to do.

This is a floating shelf and it is a pure mess. I seriously have nothing more to say.

My Nightstand in its full glory

On top of my dresser, I had some sorts of a dream vision board, some snowmen, and cans

Throw pillows I had on the bed.

I think you’re awfully sick of the before part so be ready to see the end result …🥁

FullSizeRender 7.jpg

The lighting is not the best since it is night time but you can see a better version on my story, just click HERE!

My bed looks really cozy and comfy, especially for long-late-nights in which I stay up reading.

  • I wrapped some fairy lights on my headboard.

  • Got a simple plain gray duvet from IKEA
  • Bunch of throw pillows from Indigo that were on sale: Plaid Pillow Cover, Fur Pillows which I got in Blush and Gray, Books and Tea pillow which I absolutely adore!
  • I also got a fur throw for my bed for an added touch of coziness, however, it turned out to be a bit darker than the picture on the site but it is still lovely.

FullSizeRender 17.jpg

My nightstand in which almost everything here is from IKEA (gold frame, table lamp, fake plant and pot, even the basket in the nightstand which was an “office organizer” that I spray painted gold) except:

  • the beautiful art print which is from Old English Company, their art prints are my favorites, sadly I think they stopped selling it but they have some alternatives that you can check out!
  • And my TBR pile
  • The dirty clothes basket is actually also from IKEA but I painted white circles on it to make it look better

FullSizeRender 3.jpg

The top of my dresser I kept pretty simple to avoid any type of clutter. Also, everything here is from IKEA (you can find them in the decor section!) so I am not even gonna bother BUT how cute is this smallish mirror?

FullSizeRender 9.jpg

IMG_0513.JPGTadaaaaaa here is what I hung instead of old blue/green books holder thing. This wall shelf is from IKEA (I cannot find a link to it though!) but I sprayed painted it chalk black and hung all sorts of knickknacks in.

  • Frames and prints are also from IKEA
  • The hanging pot thing is quick DIY in which I got this globe and I stuck some of this fake hanging plant in it

FullSizeRender 8.jpg

In here I created a smallish reading nook, with a rocking chair that I covered with a furry rug, basket, cute throw blanket, lantern and a bunch of frames and prints (Dreams, Sun bleached days) from IKEA except the one with the map. That crack in the wall? It is a sign that I should not be hanging things by myself.

FullSizeRender 11.jpg

I wanted my room to have more plants in it (even though they are all fake, we know I can barely take care of myself) and gold to give it an elegant/classy vibe and that’s what I did. The cool looking botanic thing, I believe is a spice rack from IKEA that I used in an unusual way 😂

FullSizeRender 14.jpg

And last but not least is my table, I spray painted it dark gray to go along well with the colors of my room. I also added a wooden tray on top just because I don’t really like the look of it plain. In that tray, I put a fake plant, my all time favorite candle from Bath and Body works, water jug (I am trying my best to drink more water!) and a simple mason jar cup.

I hope you liked the way my room looks now and that I motivated you to start adjusting your room to your comfort (Even if it means covering your whole bed with throw pillows!) If you want more posts like this just let me know, and feel free to ask anything!

Meraki Candles: Anime Quarterly #1

I am obsessed with Meraki Candles, so I totally freaked out when I saw that Heather (The owner of Meraki Candles) created a quarterly anime subscription box BECAUSE I LOVE ANIME, CANDLES AND ANIME MERCH ♥️

The theme for the very first anime quarterly box was ..

🌿 Studio Ghibli 🌿

The box was packed full with amazing and useful goodies ✨

The first two items are:

I love the details of the notebook in the inside, also having blank pages is very useful for drawing and designing 🖌️ I am really happy that I got this postcard because it matches the notebook 💙

  • A gorgeous Calcifer pin from Hannah Hitchman 🔥 There were several pins sent out, which one did you get?

  • A Beautiful Arietty print by @Tjlubrano ☕

  • Yubaba’s Bath House soap from BehindthePages and the scent of this soap is AMAZING 🛀

  • The box also included a gorgeous unboxing guide and a fun leaflet with recommendations and fun facts

THE CANDLES 🕯️ The first candle is Totoro and it has a sweet pea scent that is delicious.

The second candle is Howl’s Castle From Howl’s Moving Castle. This candle has a floral scent; a mixture of kumpquat, rose, jasmine and patchouli that transports you to a magical place 🌼

Overall, I absolutely enjoyed this box and I am looking forward to the SECOND anime quarterly box which ships on July and the theme is going to be .. Yuri On Ice ❄️ The box will go on sale on the 27th at 12pm British time so watch out and DON’T forget to use my code HAYA10 to get 10% off your order ‼️

💌 Laptop Stickers 💌

MISS ME? It’s been a while, I know. Life can get the upper hand sometimes and you just do what you have to do because, in the end, it is what it is. I’M ON A ROLL TODAY 😂 You are amazing if you got all of the references 🏆 Okay okay I am not going to make this draggy and long, we all know why you are here and that it is certainly not to hear me blabber.

Let’s start with the stickers from the right side to the left:

  • At the top, I have my favorite soot! If you are a fan of Studio Ghibli then you might appreciate this sticker.
  • Underneath it is the fancy 221B door sticker which I got in a medium size and it turned out bigger than expected, but it is gorgeous so I don’t mind.
  • FIGHT LIKE A GIRL 🎀 because girls are fierce and awesome!
  • At the bottom, I have this very cute long sticker with different types of coffees on it.
  • YER A WIZARD” Still waiting desperately to hear those words 😥.
  • A very delicious, mouthwatering waffle because why not?
  • My baby Newt Scamander
  • Felix Felicous was actually included in a Fairyloot box. However, you can still get this design although it is a bit different from Bookotter’s (Liza!) Society6 shop.
  • I am big on tea so I had to get this CUTE TEA BAG ☕.
  • This Hogwarts sticker is also from a subscription box and it is called Nerdy Post. Don’t worry if you missed it, each theme has a different sticker in the box so you might actually get something you will love more!
  • I love the moon, especially the magic of moon phases so I got this sticker that could fit even in the tiniest spaces 🌕.

If you thought that I am done then you are VERY wrong! I still have more stickers in other places on my laptop and some that I couldn’t find a space to put them on.

🎶 Here’s to the ones
who dream
Foolish, as they may seem
Here’s to the hearts
that ache
Here’s to the mess
we make 🎶 (That is what I call the stickers that did not fit on my laptop)

Making choices is a very hard thing to do, especially if it concerns stickers .. so I very foolishly bought more than my laptop can handle. Don’t do that, it’s heartbreaking and stupid.

  • Stars Hollow sign because it is the cutest!
  • Another Sherlock sticker because I am obsessed 🚬.
  • Fruit Basket which I have already talked about on my favorite anime post.
  • Luke’s Dinner and that is where I want to spend the rest of my life ☕.
  • I don’t know why I got this heart sticker but it is cute and I could probably use it as a photo prop.
  • I got a Caaaaaaaaaaarl sticker so when my laptop starts glitching I will have a reason to scream CAAAAAAAARL.
  • Card Captor Sakura is a childhood favorite so I am really sad I don’t have a place on my laptop to stick it on.
  • The most relaxing sticker ever, I really wish that I could LIVE in this sticker 😍.
  • As a young girl Princess Peach was my favorite princess and I really love the artist, his paintings are mind blowing! I totally recommend that you check them out.
  • Lastly, cacti sticker because it’s so prickly adorable!

This is it, folks. I hope that I was able to shed some sticker light on your life 💕 Which one is your FAVORITE sticker?

The Hating Game

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne 💢

5/5 🌟’s

Synopsis from Goodreads:”Nemesis (n.) 1) An opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome.
2) A person’s undoing
3) Joshua Templeman

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual.

Trapped in a shared office together 40 (OK, 50 or 60) hours a week, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship. There’s the Staring Game. The Mirror Game. The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything—especially when a huge new promotion goes up for the taking.

If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong.

Maybe Lucy Hutton doesn’t hate Joshua Templeman. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.”
This is one of (if not THE) best books I’ve read this year!! ❤️ It was absolutely fun and hilarious and throughout the whole book I felt myself being more cheerful and happy .. It’s been a while since a book have done that to me and I’m very grateful because it reminded of why I enjoy reading so much
Everything about this book is perfect, I wouldn’t change a thing about it and I’ve nothing to dislike or complain about ✨ The characters are amazing and getting to know them is an amazing experience .. I really, truly loved everything ❤️ I really don’t want to say spoil anything BUT YOU HAVE TO GET A COPY AND START READING IT! I can’t wait for Sally Thorne to release another book! I’ve a feeling that she’ll be one of my favorite authors EVER!

The Season

The Season by Stephen Dyer and Jonah Lisa 💄

4.5/5 ⭐️’s

Synopsis from Goodreads: “Megan McKnight is a soccer star with Olympic dreams, but she’s not a girly girl. So when her Southern belle mother secretly enters her in the 2016 Dallas debutante season, she’s furious—and has no idea what she’s in for. When Megan’s attitude gets her on probation with the mother hen of the debs, she’s got a month to prove she can ballroom dance, display impeccable manners, and curtsey like a proper Texas lady or she’ll get the boot and disgrace her family. The perk of being a debutante, of course, is going to parties, and it’s at one of these lavish affairs where Megan gets swept off her feet by the debonair and down-to-earth Hank Waterhouse. If only she didn’t have to contend with a backstabbing blonde and her handsome but surly billionaire boyfriend, Megan thinks, being a deb might not be so bad after all. But that’s before she humiliates herself in front of a room full of ten-year-olds, becomes embroiled in a media-frenzy scandal, and gets punched in the face by another girl.

The season has officially begun…but the drama is just getting started.”
This is a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice and I didn’t know that till I was halfway through the book!! The whole time I was like THIS CHARACTER REMINDS ME OF MR.DARCY! And this whole situation reminds me of P&P .. I guess that’s the whole point of a retelling 😂

It was absolutely fun and delightful to read 💖 I really needed a fun, pick me up book that I could read in one sitting and this book definitely delivered that it’s not just fun it also deliverers a couple of important messages about family, love and society. It talks about some serious social problems and I honestly wasn’t expecting that from this book because fun books like that tend to avoid talking about serious problems but not this book
The characters are a bit older than the usual YA books. Their age range starts from 21 and up, that’s the only thing that I found odd. I wouldn’t say it’s a NA book or a YA book .. It’s RIGHT there in between both 🤔 at least that’s what I think 😅

Three Dark Crowns

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake 👑

5/5 🌟’s

Book description: “In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown.”
We have books that are meant to be read and then we have books that are meant to be devoured and this is one of them 📖 Three Dark Crowns is a unique YA book that you won’t be able to put down. This book is dark, emotional and definitely not what you’re expecting.

The story is being told from different POVs, mainly the three sisters. It’s a bit hard to grasp “who’s who” and “what’s happening” at the beginning but once you get the hang of it you’ll be able to enjoy the book ❤️ The three sisters were raised together till the age of 6 and they got separated and raised by different families in different cities so it’s really interesting to see how that plays in their personalities and their living conditions 🌏 Since it’s the first book in the series the world building was intelligent and I really enjoyed it ✨

I didn’t have any sort of trouble with this book in fact I really enjoyed reading it and the ending was AMAZING!

Disruption by Jessica Shirvington 🔦

5/5 🌟’s

This is the first book in a new YA duology that will be released on October 4, 2016. It’s a mixture of sci-fic, dystopian and romance ✨basically all of the good stuff!! And it was packed with action that put you at the edge of your seat. Trust me, you really need to pick up your copy once it gets released. I LOVED this book, I loved the characters, I loved the plot twist .. I loved everything about it and I seriously had a hard time putting this book down.
Synopsis: “What if a microchip could identify your perfect match? What if it could be used against you and the ones you love? Eight years ago, Mercer Corporation’s M-Bands became mandatory. An evolution of the smartphone, the bracelets promised an easier life with their pheromone technology. But instead—they have come to control it. Two years ago, Maggie Stevens watched helplessly as her own father was taken from her, shattering her world as she knew it. Now, Maggie is ready to fight back. And Quentin Mercer—the very heir to the M-Corp empire—has become key to Maggie’s plan. But as the pieces of her dangerous design fall into place, could Quentin’s involvement destroy everything she’s fought for? In a world full of broken promises, the ones Maggie must keep could be the most heartbreaking.”
This book was interesting right from the beginning and it never stopped being interesting throughout the whole book. The main heroine Maggie is probably one of my favorite characters because she’s a badass that you will instantly adore.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? This book is like a perfect dish of pasta 🍝 it’s a mixture of everything good and organic 🌿 it’s hot and satisfying and you simply can’t help but enjoy it ❤️ and the reason why I said pasta is because I AM INSANELY CRAVING ITALIAN FOOD NOW
It was absolutely fun and delightful and I really enjoyed reading it ✨ i loved the attention to details in describing the food, art and the people .. Everything is just so heart warming and beautiful ❤️ and now I really need to go to Italy ✈️ If you’re looking for a fun, pick me up romantic book then this is the perfect one

Beside that, the items they send are AMAZING and like i said before they’re usually exclusive and they’re from incredible shops. If you thought that i was done then you’re wrong. And the book of the month is … UNPLUGGED BY DONNA FREITAS. This a YA dystopian novel and it’s the perfect book for fans of The UGLIES series ✨

I saved the best for last .. so one of my favorite things about this subscription box is that they send out a mini-magazine instead of a card and it’s just so entertaining and creative.

Inside this month’s mini-magazine is an interview with the author, dystopian quiz, featured bookworms and many other awesome things ✨ I am seriously looking forward to those mini magazines!!

Fairyloot’s August box unboxing 💜

You have probably heard of Fairyloot by now (if not you can check out this blog post where i explain what Fairyloot is) and you also know that their themes are AWESOME!!! So when i read that the theme for the August box is Dark Deeds i freaked out because I’m that person who is constantly falling in love with the villain instead of the hero (unless he is a clown then I’m out) and i knew that i was gonna love it and love it i did 😈

💀 Dark Deeds 💀

Who can say no to a hot steamy shower with Rhysand? I’m pretty sure that nobody is complaining .. 🔪. The scent of this soap bar is so good to the point where it must be a illegal! I love it and i totally freaked out when i saw it in my box. You can still mange to snatch a Rhysand soap bar by Behind The Pages even if you missed out the chance of getting this box 💙.

Next we have this BEAUTIFUL coloring notebook .. it’s enchanting! I’m pretty sure you will lose yourself while gazing at the breathtaking art work in this notebook ✴️.

And last but not least THIS BEAUTIFUL BOOK ❤️ Nevernight by Jay Kristoff is one of my most anticipated books of the year because this book sounds INCREDIBLE! The book came with a signed bookplate, art poster, bookmark and a very special letter from the author.

I’m genuinely so happy with this box (like always) and i can’t wait for the upcoming boxes✨
